Can we submit (1) an app already in beta and (2) a rebuild of an app?
Hi,
I am considering enter the shipaton with one or two projects but I am not sure they are eligible:
- First project is a workout app, existing in open Beta for iOS. It has not been published on the store, but is in Beta. Could the app been accepted?
- Second project is a to-do app. A V1 version exists and is published on the store. I am considering building a v2 version with a new dev, a new techo (react native instead of swift) and a new design. So technically it would be a brand new brand, built from scratch. I may even change the name compared to the v1 app. Would that be ok to submit this app or since a V1 exists on the store (even if we will build the v2 app from scratch as a new app) it is not possible to participate with this app?
Thanks a lot for your answer,
Best,
Pierre

The first one I am pretty sure is fine as the wording is about being published on the App Store.
"Apps must be either newly created by the Entrant or, if the Entrant’s Project existed prior to the Hackathon Submission Period, it can not have already been published in the App Store before the Submission Period"

Yes the 1st project is definitely fine! Being in open beta before the submission window is not a problem.
For the 2nd one, as long as it's an entirely new app and published to the store as an entirely new app (not just publishing to the same bundle id as the old app) then you should be fine.
